Oaxaca is formally known as the city of Oaxaca de Juárez after the name of its founder was built in memory of 19th-century president and Benito Juárez to commensurate him. Oaxaca is the name of a Mexican state and the capital city of this state is also named Oaxaca. The beautiful mountainous city of Oaxaca is situated in the Valley of Oaxaca in the lofty area at an elevation of about 1550 metres or 5000 feet. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">Attractions of the city named Oaxaca</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">&#8220;<strong>Mercado Benito Juarez&#8221;-</strong> The &#8220;Mercado Benito Juarez&#8221; is situated just southwest of the zocalo downtown which sells most of the village crafts along with fruits, clothing, jewellery, leather goods, and vegetables.<span> </span>When trying to get an easy bargain in the Mercado Benito Juarez region it should be kept in mind to dress moderately for the shopping day and eliminate any kind of cameras and expensive jewelery from your attire. I was also visiting this place and was amazed by the exquisite variety of indigenous goods that are available here. When coming to Mercado Benito Juarez, you should also be willing to construct a price offer for less than you are actually willing to pay and then you might be able to get a price that actually want.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">Alcala Street</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">-If one is fond of shopping and taking souvenirs home, then Alcala Street which is situated in the Northern region of the Independencia district is a perfect place for pedestrian shopping. I have been to this place and was completely delighted to take home an exquisite range of Oaxacan and Mexican crafts. Although the prices can be higher than those available in the adjacent villages but it is quite easier to shop from this place if you have a lack of time pay a visit to each and every village. Exquisite collection of rugs and pottery are available and one can imagine the extreme convenience of not looking for each and every thing and able to find them on a single street. The hassles of looking for souvenirs are completely avoided which makes it worth paying the additional price.One can also have a relishing time at the historical site of the Monte Alban which is built at the meeting point of three wide valleys located on the summit of a mountain </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">Mitla</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> &#8211; The town of Mitla is another ancient place in the city of Oxaca that can completely bewilder you with its ancient great cathedrals and ruins in the pre-Spanish era. Visiting the place called Mitla which can leave you mesmerized with a stunning contrast between a gorgeous olden city in ruins and the contemporary city which houses many modern buildings. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">The State Public Library</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> <a name="biblioteca"></a>- When you come to Oaxaca, this building is a must visit place. The State Public Library was build in the eighteenth century and is a splendid example of the Oaxacan architecture. I was completely amazed by the ornate architecture of this place and the exquisite interiors consist of three porticos enveloped by the arcaded corridors on both the ground and the upper floors, which join the rooms. A must visit sight, you can read many brilliant books related to the Oaxacan culture in the State Public Library.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">The Zócalo</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> <a name="zocalo"></a>- The Zócalo plaza can woo the vistors with a beautiful kiosk. Located near the Antequera</span><div class="imagecaptioneasy imagecaptioneasy_right" style="width:270px;"><img title="zocalo-plaza-oaxaca" src="http://www.allmymexico.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/07/zocalo-plaza-oaxaca.jpg" alt="Zocalo Plaza Oaxaca Mexico" width="270" height="180" align="right" /><br style="clear:both" /><span>Zocalo Plaza Oaxaca Mexico</span></div><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> Villa, this square is near the major urban grid of the city of Oxaca. During the colonial era, the square of Zócalo was neither cemented nor had an ample amount of sitting arrangements but things changed considerably when a fountain of marble was put up in this place in the year 1739. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">The town of Zócalo is extremely popular for the enjoyable street feasts held in this town exclusively on the eve of 23 December, which is the time of the Radish Festival. Performances are also held at this place on 15 September, the day when the festival of Grito de Dolores is held and 24 December, the occasion of Christmas Eve. At night one can have an amazing time by taking part and being a spectator to musical events that also include performances by the local bands whom play instruments like drums and brass. Get a chance to galore the absolutely enthralling performance of the local State Marimba Band.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"><br />
<strong>The Llano Park</strong> <a name="llano"></a>- Paseo Juárez located in the region of El Llano is one of the ancient and the biggest parks in the whole of the Centro Histórico region. The General Morelos created to celebrate the civic-religious festival that was started initially to mark the conquest of the Independence Movement created this park. The specialty of this place is a monument, which has an icon of the leader of the Mexican independence movement called the Benito Juárez, established in the park in the year 1894. </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">Simply pay a visit to this place to pay homage to this great Mexican leader and you will be definitely amazed by the indigenous Mexican architecture. The park came into its present condition in the year 1970. The park is situated in the northwestern region of the area of Centro Histórico, nearby the famous Church of Guadalupe. The park of El Llano is about 75 meters wide and 250 meters long. Once coming to this park, you will have a thoroughly relishing time with family and friends by savoring things like walkways, four amazing great fountains gardens and benches.</span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;"> </span></strong></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">New Market</span></strong><span style="font-size: 10pt; line-height: 150%; font-family: Verdana;">-Another delightful place that can be visited while coming to the region of Oaxaca is a souvenir market called the &#8220;la Verde Antequera&#8221; which was previously known by the name of Nueva Antequera. It has a variety of sellers who are specializing in selling souvenirs created in the adjacent Indian villages. Have an amazing place time exploring the stone structures of this place built from indigenously found green stone.<span> </span>You can also easily arrive at this place with the help- of a second grade bus station situated near the &#8220;New Market&#8221;.</span></p>

With 9 bays and 36 beaches Huatulco has hidden getaway spots all thought the area. My experience to this foremost eco-friendly resort of the hemisphere was surely among the most cherished moments of my lifetime.</p>
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoBodyText" style="line-height: 150%;">The untouched beauty of the place though pleasingly primitive is still so welcoming and warm. With stories of resorts not exceeding the count of six, a lot of care has been taken to preserve the beauty of the place intact. As I discovered the emerald rainforests and spectacular waterfalls, I just couldn’t stop myself from admitting that Huatulco is surely an environmental jewel.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Indulging in some whale watching along with exploring the culture of Zapotec people made the experience even more enriching. With ideal water location to catch tuna and marlin, I just could not resist the temptation of sport fishing, which was yet another splendid experience that added onto my memory of the trip to Hautulco.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Though I couldn’t participate, but from some passersby I got to know about The Sailfish Fishing Tournament that is held here every year amidst the crystalline and calm waters of the Pacific coast of <a title="oaxaca" href="http://www.allmymexico.com/city-guide/oaxaca/oaxaca.html">Oaxaca</a>.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Next I decided to relax for a while at Cascadas Magicas de Copalitilla (Copalita Waterfalls). The regal<div class="imagecaptioneasy imagecaptioneasy_right" style="width:150px;"><img title="repel-cascadas-magicas-de-copalitilla" src="http://www.allmymexico.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/repel-cascadas-magicas-de-copalitilla.jpg" alt="Repelling down one of the Copalita Waterfalls" width="150" height="225" align="right" /><br style="clear:both" /><span>Repelling down one of the Copalita Waterfalls</span></div> waterfalls, located in close vicinity to Copalita River rejuvenated my senses immensely and I felt as if the tranquility of the place has been passed onto my soul. The stunning waterfalls surrounded by natural hiking trails. The larger waterfalls even have a rope swing allowing you to fly into the large pool of water. Most resorts will offer trours to this magical place or you can travel their your self by following the Copalita river to a village called Santa Maria Xadani.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Apart from the impeccable natural beauty, the archaeological zone of Punta Celeste situated inside the wonderful <strong>Botazoo Ecological Park</strong> is also worth of equal admiration. Trekking experience through the jungles of the place, it added onto the adventurous aspect of my trip.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong>Bahias de Huatulco National park </strong>spans 30,000 acers hosting 470 species of reptiles and over 9000 spieces of plants.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><strong>Barra del Potero Iguana Sanctuary </strong>is the home of over 1800 iguanas. The locally run sanctuary is large fenced area where the iguanas can roam free. The Iguana sanctuary is located 20 km north of hw200.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Mazunte turtle Sanctuary is a large outdoor aquarium featuring every species of turtle known to the Mexican coast.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Reflecting the flavorful cuisine and traditional hospitality of the culture of <a title="oaxaca" href="http://www.allmymexico.com/city-guide/oaxaca/oaxaca.html">Oaxaca</a>, its surprising ingredients like tasajo, quesello, tlayudas and mole greatly satiated my taste buds. Seafood being my favorite, I just hogged upon almost each and every delicious gourmet I could, during my trip to Huatulco.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">This includes the tempting squid, shrimp, lobster and many kinds of fish that are served in a striking manner such as broiled, seasoned, grilled or fried. International, Mexican and Oaxacan specialties were the options that were offered to me at the restaurants located at the seaside.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">The true meaning of “fun” was actually revealed to me in Huatulco as I traversed in some of the clubs and<div class="imagecaptioneasy imagecaptioneasy_right" style="width:270px;"><img title="huatulco-shopping" src="http://www.allmymexico.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/huatulco-shopping.jpg" alt="Streets and shopping in Huatulco" width="270" height="196" align="right" /><br style="clear:both" /><span>Streets and shopping in Huatulco</span></div> coffee shops located here. Situated in the areas of La Crucecita, Santa Cruz and Chaque, nightclubs here are an epitome of exuberance and I had my share of enjoyment even during the nights. All Inclusive Resorts of Tangolunda, counted among the best clubs of Huatulco is another jewel that contributes to the dazzling nightlife of the place and was stupendous for me, to say the least.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Not to forget, shopping experience in Huatulco was indeed great, no matter if it is markets, small stores or beach side vendors. There is a lot that was on offer in Huatulco, especially when it comes to regional specialties that includes dresses and embroidered blouses, barro negro pottery, that are carved from the dark clay and only found in <a title="oaxaca" href="http://www.allmymexico.com/city-guide/oaxaca/oaxaca.html">Oaxaca</a> region.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">There were a few stores located in the Plaza las Conchas in Tangolunda, from where I purchased souvenirs, clothing and jewelry along with some essentials. Though there were gift shops in hotels, but I purchased some gift items from the counterparts of these gift shops located in the La Crucecita as the latter was comparatively cheaper.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">My hotel at the beachside was ideally located, however there were also hotels in the city, but staying close to the beach obviously provided me with an opportunity to capture some panoramic views of the place. Condos was another good option for accommodation that I would have preferred if I had visited there with my family, but being alone hotel seem to be a more comfortable alternative to me.<span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Golf being my passion, I took recourse to the golf course located in Hatulco, which I must say was quite challenging. The course was in apt shape and well watered. There was not even the smallest brown patch that was visible. The course was one of its kind and not the usual resort style. Laid out on quite narrow but deep land area, it is very rarely discovered that holes are found consecutively parallel to one another.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Hautulco being a hot place, I decided to play during the early morning hours and I wouldn’t be wrong at all if I say that it was indeed a good decision on my part.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;"><a href="http://www.allmymexico.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/huatulco-beach.jpg"><img alt="" align="&lt;br" /></a><div class="imagecaptioneasy imagecaptioneasy_left" style="width:270px;"><img title="huatulco-beach" src="http://www.allmymexico.com/wp-content/uploads/2008/06/huatulco-beach.jpg" alt="Huatulco Beach" width="270" height="148" align="left" /><br style="clear:both" /><span>Huatulco Beach</span></div>With such variety and activities that Hautulco has on offer, there is nothing more that I could have asked for. I was glad that I have been blessed to pay a visit to one of the most beautiful places of the world, which had a tint of everything, ranging from adventure, tranquility to fun.</p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">The unspoilt beauty of the place is still very much alive in my memories till today and I long to get back there. Though I went there alone, but I am sure it is a great gateway for romantic pleasures and will surely be an experience of a lifetime for all its visitors. Sports, nightlife, shopping, you just name it and you will find it in Huatulco.<span> </span></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; line-height: 150%;">Although the days that I spent in Huatulco were few, but for each day spent there I can relate a different and new experience. Indeed I have explored Huatulco in many ways, but I am sure there is a lot more that still lies there which are unseen, revisiting this magical place of Huatulco will defiantly become a priority.</p>
