Mitla – The town of Mitla is another ancient place in the city of Oxaca that can completely bewilder you with its ancient great cathedrals and ruins in the pre-Spanish era. The State Public Library - When you come to Oaxaca, this building is a must visit place. The State Public Library was build in the eighteenth century and is a splendid example of the Oaxacan architecture. I was completely amazed by the ornate architecture of this place and the exquisite interiors consist of three porticos enveloped by the arcaded corridors on both the ground and the upper floors, which join the rooms. A must visit sight, you can read many brilliant books related to the Oaxacan culture in the State Public Library.

The town of Zócalo is extremely popular for the enjoyable street feasts held in this town exclusively on the eve of 23 December, which is the time of the Radish Festival. Performances are also held at this place on 15 September, the day when the festival of Grito de Dolores is held and 24 December, the occasion of Christmas Eve. The Llano Park - Paseo Juárez located in the region of El Llano is one of the ancient and the biggest parks in the whole of the Centro Histórico region. The General Morelos created to celebrate the civic-religious festival that was started initially to mark the conquest of the Independence Movement created this park. The specialty of this place is a monument, which has an icon of the leader of the Mexican independence movement called the Benito Juárez, established in the park in the year 1894.

The park came into its present condition in the year 1970. The park is situated in the northwestern region of the area of Centro Histórico, nearby the famous Church of Guadalupe. The park of El Llano is about 75 meters wide and 250 meters long. New Market-Another delightful place that can be visited while coming to the region of Oaxaca is a souvenir market called the “la Verde Antequera” which was previously known by the name of Nueva Antequera. It has a variety of sellers who are specializing in selling souvenirs created in the adjacent Indian villages. Have an amazing place time exploring the stone structures of this place built from indigenously found green stone. You can also easily arrive at this place with the help- of a second grade bus station situated near the “New Market”.
