The average water temperature is 77 degrees through the year. There is a variety of fish living in the cave system which are all fairly small in size along with some fresh water shrimp.

One of the connecting caverns is also known as the bat cave, It can be accessed by latter descending down from a small hole in the ground above, or through diving or snorkeling from cavern to cavern. We did not see a tun of bats but with the help of a diving light there was defiantly a few sleeping on the caverns roof above.

Most dives at Dos Ojos are less then 30 ft deep, allowing for a longer dive and more exploration of this spectacular cenote. Cave Diving can be dangerous without proper training. It is recommended to always do these dives with a guided tour by a certified dive master.
